Rita Ora’s career goes from strength to strength. Last year, she was nominated for four BRIT awards and her four UK number ones made her the second most successful British solo female artist ever. This year, her track, ‘Grateful’, is up for a Best Original Song Oscar and her acting career is taking off with a role in the erotic Hollywood sensation – Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s no wonder that fashion designers and clothing brands are queuing up to work with her.
I have worked with Rita since 2012, when I designed and art-directed her platinum-selling first album and the campaign for the single ‘Ora’, which debuted at number one in the UK chart. I also designed her website to echo the aesthetic of the music packaging. This year, I worked on her latest single, “I Will Never Let You Down”, produced by chart-topping, Grammy nominated, multi-platinum producer Calvin Harris. For this up-tempo dance-pop song, I created an evocative image that would show off Rita’s rebellious side.
